Kauai Museum Christmas Craft Fair and Lights on Rice Parade

 

Holiday craft fairs on Kauai signal the Christmas season. One of the more prominent and long running holiday craft fairs happens this Friday, December 2,2011 at the Kauai Museum. Doors open at 10:00am through 8:00pm. Vendors of Kauai made products will line the street front and sides of the museum. Along with crafts and gifts, plate lunches will also be sold during the noon hours. This will be obvious as state and county workers employed in the surrounding area will make their way early to get their favorite dishes.

Along with the craft fair, the "Lights on Rice Parade", starts at 6:00pm.  This annual Christmas parade starts on Kalena St and ends at the Kauai County Building.  This is a very popular event so I suggest you reserve your space along Rice St  EARLY.  Parking will be very limited.  Thousands of local residents gather along Rice St to celebrate this festive event. A great time to experience a Kauai style holiday event!

Google Car in Lawai

Spotted the Google Car at the stop light at the Lawai Trading Post intersection today.  The November 1, 2011 article in the Garden Island Newspaper, "Google Car captures Kauai", states that the Google car will be on Kauai for about 3 weeks.  Driver  "Morse said he is traveling every paved road on Kaua‘i and recording its landscape to add to the Street View application that allows practically any Internet user to take a 360-degree, street-level, virtual tour,"  per the Garden Island newspaper.

Okay...gotta go home and make sure my yard is looking good! :)

KATINAS tonight!

The Katinas, five brothers originally from the South Pacific (America Samoa) will be hosting its first concert tonight at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall. The Katinas latest project "Collage" was released in June 2011. The Welcome to the Collage show is a concert experience for the whole family.
Doors open @ 6pm, show starts @ 7pm


Their music is inspiring and uplifting!  Awesome christian men who love their God through their music!
