Kauai Junior Lifeguard Program 2012

Summer is around the corner, and our children will be headed to the beaches.  Being the father of two ocean loving sons,  I am so thankful for the Kauai Jr. Lifeguard program.  The ocean is a fun place, but my Dad always taught me to respect the ocean.  And it's advice worth taking.

 The program is:

• Free
• Available to children 13 to 17 yrs old
• Week long sessions, Monday-Friday, 10:00am to 2:00pm
• Available at five (5) beach sites
• Limited to 50 participants per site

To join, you must be able to:

• Swim
• Run 100 yards nonstop
• Provide copy of birth certificate  with registration form
 

Site locations and dates:

• June 4-8, Salt Pond Beach, Hanapepe
• June 18-22, Lydgate Beach, Kapaa
• June 25-29, Poipu Beach, Koloa
• July 9-13, Hanalei Beach, Hanalei
• July 16-20, Kalapaki Beach, Lihue

Miss Hawaii 2011 Lauren Cheape

Once a month, our church goes to a beach park and provides "Church On The Beach" for the Kauai community.  Free lunch, prize giveaways, food bank, recycled clothing, refreshments, medical care, music and dance,  and a 10 minute message  are provided every 3rd Sunday of the month by the Kauai Bible church family.   Miss Hawaii 2011, Lauren Cheape, visited us at our March  COTB held in Hanapepe.

Koloa Principal, Debbie Lindsey wins $25,000 award

Congratulations to my friend,  Debbie Lindsey, Koloa Elementary school principal, who won the 8th annual Masayuki Tokioka Excellence in School Leadership Award of $25,000.  

A well deserved award to a genuine and dedicated lady.  Koloa school and the Koloa community have a gem in their midst. Mahalo Debbie for your vision, dedication and hard work!

Merrie Monarch 2012 - Kauai's representative for Miss Aloha Hula

Jayna Shaffer, Kauai's representative for this year's 2012 Merrie Monarch hula festival in Hilo, Hawaii performs her kahiko dance for the Miss Aloha Hula  competition.

Congratulations to Halau Ka Lei Mokihana o Leina'ala for your awesome performance.  You represented Kauai with so much aloha.  We are so proud of you !

Where can I find luxury condos in Hawaii?

A fun time was had by all who attended last week's Broker's Open House event at Koloa Landing at Poipu Beach.  Good food, music, putting contest, and fun in the 6,100 square foot family lagoon pool!
Brokers also had a chance to view the "fully loaded" 2012 Toyota 4Runner that will be given away to their clients who purchase during the, "Island Home, Island Car" promotion.
