Poipu Kapili

The view from Poipu Kapili looked stunning today as I looked out from a ground floor level towards the sea. Steps away from the alluring pool with a backdrop of the Pacific ocean made for a perfect day to be on checking in at Poipu Kapili.

Gluten Free on Kauai

updated as of Jan 30, 2012

There is a new trend in our food world. The Gluten Free diet! Or is it a trend? Increased diagnosis of Celiac disease and gluten intolerace has created the need for a gluten free diet. From what I understand, Celiac disease is a serious autoimmune disease. Many people seem to be concerned, thus the new market for "gluten free" foods.

Here are some suggestions on where to get "gluten free" products on Kauai.

Kukui'ula Market, Poipu - dry and refrigerated goods, good selection

Living Foods Market, Poipu - good selection, but pricey

Papalani Gelato, Poipu-ice cream and sherbert

Longs, Lihue - dry goods, fair selection

Times, Supermarket, Waimea, Eleele, Koloa, Lihue, Kapaa - dry and refrigerated goods, good selection

Vim and Vigor, Lihue - dry and refrigerated goods, good selection

Sweet Marie's, Lihue - baked goods, very good, hours of operation vary

Cost U Less, Kapaa - dry and refrigerated goods, good selection

Papayas, Kapaa - dry and refrigerated goods, good selection, pricey

Hoku Foods, Kapaa - dry goods, good selection

Kukui'ula Golf Course

13th Hole

Kukui'ula’s private 18-hole Tom Weiskopf-designed golf course has made it's grand appearance. And it plays as well as it looks. However, the travel of the small white ball becomes very insignificant as you look around and realize the beauty that surrounds you. (from the book, "Things golfers say after a triple bogey".)

Actually, the course is in great shape, and the greens are perfect!  There are 4 tee times available for kama'ainas between 12:00-12:30 every day.  The remaining tee times are reserved for owners and their guests.

If you are interested in learning more about the Kukui'ula community, let me know. Perhaps I can even arrange for us to get on their golf course. And in the meantime, as a former Kukui'ula sales exec,  I will be more than happy to share my knowledge about this "new" community with you.

What does that mean, Tim?

It means that Kennedy Wilson negotiated with the Buyers to raise their “winning bid” somewhere closer to KW’s reserve price.  That information is not public, so we won’t find out what it sold for until the property closes in about 2 months.

What do I do now?

Call me if you want to make an offer on the remaining “Nohea” model, or if you need any help in purchasing a home on Kauai.

Whether it’s an auction or any other property of interest, you’ll want a knowledgeable agent to represent you as you’re deciding to make your dream home purchase.

Aloha, Tim
